Stationary Electric Air Compressors

Description

The SMC SSE 480S-8bar and SSE 565S-8bar are types of stationary electric air compressors that operate using a positive displacement mechanism. These units are composed of essential components including the cylinder, crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, and related assemblies.

During operation, the electric motor powers a belt-driven system that enables the piston to move back and forth within the cylinder (two-stroke cycle). As the piston moves downward, the intake valve opens to draw air in, while the exhaust valve remains closed. Conversely, when the piston moves upward, the intake valve closes, and the compressed air is forced out through the exhaust valve.

This cyclical motion allows air from the surrounding environment to be drawn in, compressed, and then discharged—either vented outside or directed into an external system for various applications.
