
Description
The main components of the SMC Two-Stage Stationary Electric Screw Air Compressors include a precision-engineered screw compression unit and an integrated oil-air separation chamber.
Air is drawn in through an intake filter and regulated by an inlet control valve. During the compression process, lubricating oil is injected into the compression chamber to cool, seal, and lubricate the screw elements and bearings. The result is a compressed air and oil mixture, which is then directed into the oil-air separation chamber.
Inside the chamber, centrifugal force and gravity separate the majority of the oil from the mixture. The remaining oil mist passes through a high-efficiency separator element made of advanced glass fiber material, ensuring that nearly all remaining oil particles are filtered out. The recovered oil flows back through a return line equipped with an inline oil filter, ensuring only clean oil re-enters the compression unit.
Once separated, the compressed air exits the separation chamber and passes through a minimum pressure valve before entering an after-cooler. The after-cooler reduces the air temperature before it is stored in the air receiver tank, ready for use across various pneumatic systems.
Any condensate that forms is collected in the tank and discharged automatically or manually through a drainage system.
